Abstract

956,989. Knitting-machines. J. S. JOHANSEN A.S. Oct. 18, 1962 [Oct 18,1961],No. 37422/61. Heading D1C. The pattern pins 4 of a pattern drum for a knitting machine are locked in either a projected or retracted position by a locking cylinder 2 engaging above or below a collar 7 formed on each pin. The pins are normally urged outwardly by springs 5 and after having been pressed inwardly they are selectively permitted to project by wrapping the outer cylinder 1 with a pattern sleeve perforated to correspond to the desired pattern. After the selected pins have been projected the cylinder 2 is moved to its locking position as shown to retain the pins projected or retracted. The pattern sleeve is then removed.
