The bath of the parent Specification is modified by the addition of a mixer valve 59 connected to the cold water supply and, optionally, a wash basin 22, the valve being arranged so that water can be directed into bath 10, tank 40 or basin 22. In order to prepare a bath, the tank 40 is filled through neck 50 with cold water, the water level being shown by gauge 44. Switch 60 is then turned to one position to energize thermostatically controlled immersion heater 53 and, when the water is hot and the lamp 61 extinguished, to another position to operate pump and motor 55 and 56 to deliver hot water to valve 59. The bath and basin have normal waste water connections.
