Abstract

952,979. Bottle crates. A. SCHOELLER. Nov. 22, 1962, No. 44123/62. Heading B8P. A bottle crate made of a plastics material has longitudinal and transverse walls 10 and 11 forming a framework inside the crate to secure the bottles in position and consists of a stiff upper frame 1 and a stiff bottom frame 2 rigidly connected together by corner supports 3 rounded on the outside and provided with side walls in the lower part of the crate. The frames, supports and upper edges of the side walls have reinforced ribs which project to the outside, and the bottom frame carries a grid of profiled bars forming the crate bottom and carrying the framework. The side walls may have openings for viewing the bottle labels and the cleaning of the crate is facilitated by the construction of the framework near the points of intersection of its walls. In modifications there can be guide edges for guiding the bottles into position, flanges at the top and bottom of the crate to facilitate stacking of crates, and extra reinforcements at the corner supports.
