Relates to a gun carriage convertible to a fixed-position mounted supported by jacks, the carriage wheels then being lifted off the ground or detached from the carriage frame. According to the invention three jacks 3, Fig. 2, are provided and are operated by electric motors 6, one for each jack, under the control of a lever 31, r Figs. 3, 4, of the " joystick " type mounted on a table 30 on the carriage frame 1, the lever 31 being capable of moving from a neutral central position, in three planes intersecting one another at 120 degrees along a common vertical line coinciding with the axis of the lever in the central position. The arrangement is such that displacement of the lever 31 in any of the three planes produces, when the lever is moved on one side of its central position, the operation of a single jack 3 in a given direction (expansion or retraction) and, when the lever is moved on the other side of the central plane, the operation of the two other jacks in the same direction, each of the three planes corresponding to the control of a different single jack and of the two other jacks. The lever 31 also carries a push-switch 32 for selecting the direction (expansion or retraction) of the operation of the jacks produced by a given displacement of the lever 31. Two independent control switches 33, 34 permit simultaneous expansion or retraction of all three jacks. Power is supplied to the motors 6 by an electric battery 7 carried on the frame 1, the battery being charged by a motor 8 driving a generator 9. The frame is also provided with a transformer 10 and rectifier 11 for connection to an electric distribution network when this is possible.
