950,062. Draught and dust excluders. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd., and FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. July 20, 1960 [July 23, 1959], No. 25244/59. Heading E1J. A dust-proof seal between a car &c. door 10, Fig. 1, and its surround 11 comprises a rubber &c. tube 12 secured in a recess formed in the surround 11 and having integral therewith or secured thereto a laterally projecting rubber &c. lip 13, the tube 12 being connected through a duct 14 with the induction manifold of the car engine or other sub-atmospheric pressure source and the arrangement of the lip 13 is such that by opening a valve on closing the door, air is evacuated from the tube 12 which collapses to cause the lip 13 to deflect to make sealing engagement with the face 16 of the door as shown in Fig. 1a or against the end wall of the door.
