Abstract

949,633. Gramophone centre-posts. MAGNAVAUX ELECTRONICS CO. Ltd. Sept. 29,1961 [July 28, 1961], No. 27493/61. Heading G5R. A post for a sequential record-changer is provided with vertical slots 2 through which long springy withdrawable fingers 5 project for supporting a stack of records and are withdrawn by the downward movement of a sleeve of which the fingers are an integral part. Prior to the release of the lowermost record by the withdrawal of the fingers 5, a central rod 4 bearing cams 11, 12 and 13 (13 not shown in the drawings) is drawn downwardly by cycling mechanism such as described in Specification 805, 964, so that lugs 7,8 and 9 (9 not shown) are urged outwardly and support all but the lowermost record of the stack. After the springy fingers have been withdrawn within the centre post and subsequently re-extended, the rod 4 is again raised so that lugs 7, 8 and 9 are withdrawn.
