948,449. Pick-finding mechanisms. L.STRACH. May 11, 1960, No. 16571/60. Heading D1E. The invention concerns a pick-finding mechanism in the kind of loom which stops at front centre on weft fault with the jacquard cylinders already turned on for the next shed but with the hooks and griffe engaged for the last shed so that, on "unweaving", it is necessary to turn back the cards initially twice, and thereafter once, per backward revolution of the loom. For normal weaving the cylinder is intermittently moved by a sleeve 22 having a pin 27 engaging a star wheel 37 and the presser frame 32 is moved by a cam lift 30 on the sleeve 11. On "unweaving" the sleeve 22 is moved axially to disengage the pin 27 and cam 30 and to engage a rephased cam 31 with the presser frame 32. During the first pick of unweaving two pins 28,29 successively turn the card cylinder star wheel 37 and then the sleeve 22 is moved (not fully) back axially so that only the longer pin 29 engages the wheel 37 for each successive pick.
