947,908. Surgical sampling devices. FLEXILE METAL CO. Ltd. Sept. 20, 1962 [Sept. 26, 1961], No. 34525/61. Heading A5R. A container for sampling body fluids has an opening in which a stopper 2 supporting a hypodermic needle is reversibly mounted so that in one position the pointed end 6 of the needle projects into the container and in the other position the pointed end of the needle projects from the container for use, a closure cap 11 serving to enclose the blunt end 7 of the needle when the pointed end is in the container and to close the container when the stopper is removed. An air vent (not shown) is provided in either the stopper or the container wall. The stopper has lugs for handling. The container may be made of transparent synthetic resin.
