Abstract
946,565. Windscreen cleaners. H, C. MOLENAAR. May 5, 1960 [May 5, 1959; March 24, 1960], No. 15923/60. Heading A4F. [Also in Division F1] A manually or vacuum operated spring return reciprocating pump has control means comprising electrical leads 19, 20 and a conductive stem 6, with an insulating portion 23, for interconnecting a windscreen wiper motor and source of electricity so that, while the pump discharge is stopped by an apertured resilient member 27 towards the end of the discharge stroke, the wiper motor continues to operate until said interconnection is broken. Alternatively, for pneumatic drive, the control means comprises a valve which is operated in an analogous manner, Fig. 7 (not shown). The effective length of stem 6, or the position of contacts 19, 20, or the position of outlet 29, is adjustable, to vary the time for which the motor operates after liquid discharge ceases. In a modification Fig. 10 (not shown) the control means for the electrically driven embodiment comprises a blade spring which simultaneously makes and breaks respective pairs of connections, between the motor and the source of electricity, and a circuit for arresting the motor when the wiper blades are in the parked position. Specification 852,758 is referred to.
