Abstract
1,041,901. Regulating pumps. DANFOSS A/S. March 20, 1963 [March 20, 1962], No. 11101/63. Heading F1A. [Also in Division F4] When an electric motor 9 driving a pump supplying oil to a burner atomizing nozzle 5 is switched off an electromagnet valve 14 or a plunger valve 36, Fig. 3, not shown, is opened so that the pump, as it slows to a stop, draws oil from the nozzle. The electromagnetic valve 14 is disposed in a bypass pipe 13 leading from the nozzle to the inlet pipe 4 of the pump. A three pole switch 15, Fig. 2, not shown, either connects the motor 9 to the mains R, S, T or connects two phases of the motor through contacts 16, 17 to a rectifier 18 and a relay coil 19. The remanence voltage of the motor is thus used to energize the coil 19 which closes a contact 20 to energize the electromagnetic valve 14, A variable resistance 24 and a condenser 25 provides a delay circuit. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown) the plunger valve 36 is held closed by the pressure on the outlet side of the pump 26 and opens the bypass pipe 40 when the pump pressure drops.
