Abstract
944,632. Screening electrical equipment. TECHNICAL WIRE PRODUCTS Inc. Nov. 16, 1961, No. 41107/61. Heading H1R. An electrical shielding member to be inserted e.g. between a housing and a lid consists of a rigid metallic member 22 slotted along one edge and a resilient conductive member mounted in the slot. As shown (Fig. 3), the resilient conductive member consists of a rolled knitted member encased in a further knitted tube 18a knitted from a conductive filament. The assembly is rolled to form the fin 20 which is then pinched between the sides of the slot. In the arrangement of Fig. 4, the centre of the member is of non-conductive rubber 28 surrounded by a knitted conductor tube 27. Fig. 6 shows a box lid 39 clamped down on to rigid member 30 which holds a plastics or rubber sealing strip 34 at one side and a screening strip 18 as described above, at the other, although both slots may hold a screening strip.
