Abstract
<PICT:0944031/C3/1> A water tank 6 is cathodically protected against corrosion by a sacrificial anode consisting of a frusto-conical block 1 of, for example, magnesium, which is supported in the tank on a tripod having legs 2. The legs which are of zinc galvanized steel are coated with a plastic material, for example, polythene, to insulate them from the tank and the block, are located in respective grooves in the block and are secured thereto by a cast-in bolt 4. An insulated wire 7 electrically connects the block to the tank.
