Abstract

943,452. Stoppers. J. T. BAKER CHEMICAL CO. Jan. 17, 1962 [Aug. 28, 1961], No. 1666/62. Heading B8T. A dispensing closure of resilient material, e.g. of polyethylene, for a container 4 having a cylindrical neck, comprises a stationary hollow inner member 13 partially inserted in the neck and with outlets in a frusto-conical portion 26 which are closed when the surrounding outer sleeve 1 with an upper discharge opening and pouring lip 22 is fully screwed down on the neck to engage a flange 12 of the inner member. The closure is opened by partially unscrewing the outer sleeve whereby liquid from the container flows through the outlets and the discharge opening. Liquid sealing ribs 14, 15 and 19 are provided on the outer sleeve. Indexing means 6, 7, 8 may be provided on the peripheries of the neck and sleeve.
