Abstract

941,028. Suspended ceilings. M. O. HEMMING. Nov. 9, 1961 [Aug. 22, 1961], No. 40113/61. Heading E1V. A suspended ceiling framework is supported by light metal strips 11 having central projections 47 or alternatively slots in their edges, by which they are adjustably supported in slots 24 in brackets 18a fitted on the framework. Stirrups contained in recesses depend from the ceiling proper and the straps are bent over these, alternatively the straps are held to the ceiling by bolts. As shown, the bracket has a flap 26 bent flat after entry of the strap, or in an embodiment the slot 24 is longer but closed at both ends. Leaves 30 and a flange 37 clip the bracket on to a T-sectioned framework member 32 or (Fig. 8 not shown) on to a channel sectioned member. Opposed slots in the strap are staggered and they may be inclined to the strap edge. To permit further adjustment the straps may be twisted.
