940,423. Powder distributers. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. March 14, 1960 [March 13, 1959], No. 28783/63. Divided out of 940,421. Heading A1D. In a machine for spreading powdery material wherein material is fed from a container to a rotary spreading member 3, the material is fed from the hopper through outlet openings 6 in an annular member 5, there being shutters mounted on a ring 8 movable to control the flow through the openings and a mechanism including an arm 9 for turning the annular member 5 and an arm 13 for turning the shutters and a stop means for limiting the movement of one arm with respect to the other in both of two relatively opposite directions comprising a clamp 17 on the arm 9 provided with a pointer 19 which co-operates with a scale on a strip 14 forming part of the arm 13, the clamp being movable between two finger pieces 15, 16.
