A method of sealing the lead wires to an electrical component in a container comprises passing the lead wire 4 through a tube 3 supported in an insulating portion of the container 1. The tube 3 being sealed to the lead 4 by a sealing ring 5 which is compressed so that faces 6 and 7 bite into the tube and lead respectively.
