Abstract
936,199. Hair clips. A. W. MACNAMARA. June 28, 1962 [July 3, 1961], No. 23885/61. Class 131. [Also in Group XXV] A hair clip comprises a U-shape member a, of resilient material, the free ends of the limbs a<SP>1</SP> having portions a<SP>3</SP> extending towards each other and formed with upturned, mutually inclined flanges a<SP>4</SP> which are engaged in a slot b<SP>1</SP> in a second member b to laterally stress the member a so that it assumes a bowed condition and can be snapped to a reversely bowed condition to open and close the clip. The members are cut from sheet metal, the member b having an end b<SP>2</SP> bent over the portions a<SP>3</SP> to retain them in position, a part b<SP>3</SP> bent to extend between the limbs a<SP>1</SP>, and a part b<SP>4</SP> which may be slotted at b<SP>5</SP> and is of such width and/or length that it cannot pass between the limbs a<SP>1</SP>.
