Abstract
934,947. Fire-extinguishing. H. R. WILKINSON. Feb. 22, 1962 [March 10, 1961], No. 8794/61. Class 47. A fire-extinguishing device for a decorative panel, plaque or door comprises a fusible link and a spray nozzle on the outer side of the panel &c. and a spring- loaded lever, a compressed air bulb and a liquid container within the panel &c., the device being such that fusing of the link allows the lever to break the bulb to discharge the liquid through the nozzle on to the source of heat. A fire-extinguishing device which is partially mounted within door plates a comprises a fusible link c which normally holds down in position through a lever g, pivotally mounted at h on a wall bracket i, a lever j inside the door panel, which lever is upwardly urged by a spring k and pivoted at o to a part p in the door and engages a lever q pivoted at r. Melting of the link causes the lever q to operate a plunger u which engages a compressed air capsule u, which in turn is pierced by a hollow needle w at its base. The released pressure causes liquid in intercommunicating tubular storage parts x to pass as liquid or foam to a spray nozzle b projecting from the door plate. The nozzle may be of the revolving type.
