Abstract

A device for applying liquid adhesive, paint or other liquid to a surface comprises a container 1 having flexible or resilient walls and screwthreaded outlet 2, and a screwthreaded headpiece 4 supporting a brush, and formed with a bore 5 therethrough defining a conduit from the container 1 to the brush. The headpiece has pocket holes 6 arranged around the conduit in which holes 6 are secured the tufts of bristles 7, which bristles extend parallel to the axis of the screwthreads so that when the container outlet is upright the bristles are upright, and a rim 9 surrounding the brush and extending above the mouth of the pocket holes 6 to prevent downward flow of the liquid over the outer surface into the screwthread <PICT:0934676/III/1> 4b when the bristles are upright. The headpiece 4 has internal screwthreads at each end 4a and 4b to permit the headpiece 4 to be reversibly attached to the outlet 2 of the container 1. The bore 5 may have a nozzle 11 for applying spots of liquid to a surface, this being done by inverting the headpiece 4. A cap 8 may be fitted over the headpiece 4.
