Abstract
934,287. Core constructions. A. G. M. INDUSTRIES Ltd., and A. R. MILLS. April 9, 1962 [June 19, 1961], No. 22020/61. Class 35. The armature of an electric motor comprises laminations 12 which are held together and fixed to the shaft 15 by injection moulding of nylon to form a skin 18 covering the radial arm 11 of each T-shaped portion 16 and the underside of the head 17, with integral end-pieces 21 over the end laminations and short bosses 22 extending along a short length of the shaft 15 beyond the endpieces 21. The mould is so formed that the skin has an axial stiffening rib 23 between adjacent pairs of radial arms 11. The shaft 15 has a key-way 19 at each end so that the nylon skin 18 is keyed against rotation.
