934,109. Bottle closures. P. V. L. SALMINEN. Nov. 25, 1960 [Dec. 10, 1959], No. 40517/60. Class 125(3). [Also in Group V] A bottle cap is formed in a mould as at Fig. 1 and fitted to a bottle neck as at Fig. 2; the inner sleeve 1 has material 1<SP>1</SP> drawn downward by removal of mould portion M2 in direction 'a'. The material used is preferably polyethylene, and should be impervious to carbon dioxide. The effect of drawing a portion of the material when it is partially set is to provide an integral portion of the inner sleeve which is softer than the remainder in order to facilitate better sealing between the cap and bottle. Specification 865,039 is referred to.
