932,843. Nickel-plating solutions. W. CANNING & CO. Ltd. Jan. 16, 1961 [Feb. 1, 1960], No. 3433/60. Class 41. A solution for bright nickel-plating of metal articles, comprises a nickel salt (e.g. NiSO 4 ) and contains at least one organic acetylenic compound such as, for example, 2-butyne-4- diamine, 2 - butyne - 1,4 - di - N,N<SP>1</SP> - pyridinium chloride, 1-butyne-3-ol, di-acetylenic glycols, phenyl acetylenic alcohols, 1-butyne-3-one, and halogenated acetylenic alcohols. The solution may also contain one or more sulphonic acids, or their Na, NH 4 , Mg, Ni or CO salts, sulphonamides or sulphonimides and in addition are or more thio-carboxylic acids with a sulphur atom γ, # or γ to a carboxylic acid group.
