Abstract

931,271. Lintels; metal bars. MODERN BUILDING (NEWPORT MON.) Ltd. July 30, 1959 [Aug. 5, 1958], No. 25129/58. Classes 20 (2) and 20 (4). A metal lintel of inverted T-section comprises a solid non-laminated web 2, Fig. 5, and a crosspiece formed of two arms la, 1b extending at right-angles to the web, the underface of the crosspiece being provided with means for keying thereto or retaining in position plaster or concrete or the like. The said means may comprise strips 3, 4 of expanded metal or wooden members, Fig. 8 (not shown), secured to the underface of the crosspiece, or may comprise perforations in or roughening of the crosspiece. A part 5 of the underface of the crosspiece may remain free from the keying means to receive a window or door frame. The arms 11a 11b of the crosspiece may be in different planes as in Fig. 7.
