Abstract
A glove lubricant composition which may be used to lubricate the surgeon's hands prior to insertion into surgical gloves comprises a homogeneous mixture of starch or lycopodium, a hydroalcoholic solution containing at least 10% of a lower (C1-6) alkanol and a dispersing agent which is preferably a carboxyvinyl polymer neutralized with polyoxyethylenecocoamine. The starch may be a modified, non-caking starch, e.g. formaldehyde or epichlorhydrin-treated starch. Antiseptics, e.g. hexachlorophene, 2,21-thio-bis-(4,6-dichlorophenol) or 3,4,41-trichlorocarbanilide may also be included.ALSO:A glove lubricant composition which may be used to lubricate a surgeon's hand prior to insertion into surgical gloves comprises a homogeneous mixture of starch or lycopodium, a hydroalcoholic solution containing at least 10% lower (C1-6) alkanol and a dispersing agent which is preferably a carboxy vinyl polymer neutralized with polyoxyethylenecocoamine. The starch may be a modified non-caking starch, e.g. formaldehyde- or epichlorhydrin-treated starch. Antiseptics, e.g. hexachlorophene, 2,21-thio-bis-(4,6-dichlorophenol) or 3,4,41-trichlorocarbanilide may also be included.
