Abstract
930,064. Reciprocating pumps. MECHANAULICS Ltd. Oct. 12, 1959 [July 10, 1958], No. 22203/58. Class 102(1). A stepped member is slidable within a uniform cylindrical member 14 provided with seals 17, 18 engaging the surfaces 1, 2 of the stepped member. A member 37 between the surfaces 1, 2 sealingly engages the member 14 and is axially movable relative to the stepped member to form a bucket valve between the larger annular chamber 43 and the smaller 44 whereby during relative reciprocation liquid is drawn through a valve 33 into the chamber 43 and on the subsequent stroke passes through the member 37 to the outlet 6 and also into the chamber 44 from which it is discharged to the outlet on the subsequent stroke. The member 37 may be secured to the stepper member and incorporate a non-return valve. In a modification the outer cylinder maybe stepped and the inner member of uniform diameter.
