Abstract
925,939. Concrete reinforcing bars. A. REIMBERT. July 15, 1960 [July 20, 1959; Dec. 11, 1959], No. 24727/60. Class 20 (4). A reinforcement for concrete comprises a bar, the periphery of which comprises at least one rib 2, Fig. 1, extending in the longitudinal direction, the outer surface of which over a major portion of its width has a convex configuration which runs progressively away from the inscribed circle passing through the base of the rib and forms an acute angle therewith. The bar may be twisted about its axis to give the ribs a helicoidal appearance. The rib includes a narrow surface 14 which connects the main surfaces of a rib with an adjacent surface, which narrow surface may form an acute, obtuse or right angle with the inscribed circle. Additional projections 16, Fig. 7, or, for example 15, Fig. 13, may be provided. The bar from which the reinforcement is produced may be extruded to comprise one or more longitudinal passages arranged symmetrically in relation to the longitudinal axis of the bar, the subsequent twisting of the bar causing partial or complete closing of these passages.
