Abstract
925,367. Supply circuits for electric discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 20, 1961 [Oct. 20, 1960], No. 36082/60. Class 38 (4). A circuit arrangement for operating at least one heatable cathode electric discharge lamp 5 from a low voltage high frequency A.C. supply is provided with the series combination of a capacitor C2 and an inductor L2 connected in series with the discharge path of the lamp 5 so as to prevent rectification due to a lamp fault, the capacitor - inductor combination being arranged to be at or near resonance at the frequency of the A.C. supply. The combination may alternatively be connected between the ballast inductor L1 and the lamp or the elements may be connected one at each side of the lamp.
