925,358. Percussive tools. JOY-SULLIVAN Ltd. Dec. 19, 1960 [March 14, 1960], No. 8842/60. Class 124. An air leg for rock drills comprises a cylinder formed of, or enclosed in a jacket of, resin bonded fibre glass, internally threaded metal bushes bonded within the ends of the cylinder, a plug carrying a spike and/or a sprag screwed into one bush and closing the end of the cylinder, and a gland, serving as a guide for a piston - rod passing therethrough, screwed into the other bush. As shown, a cylinder 10 of fibre glass has screwed plugs 11, 12, one at either end. A plug 13 carrying a spike 15 and a sprag 16 is screwed into the bush 11 and a gland 21 into the bush 12. A piston-rod 18 having a piston 17 and a connection 20 for a rock drill passes through the gland 21.
