Abstract

924,390. Practice projectiles. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. April 11, 1960 [April 20, 1959], No. 12829/60. Class 9 (1). A practice round of ammunition comprises a reusable metal case 1 with an integral base 2 from which projects a tubular extension 3 having a threaded inner surface into which is screwed a member 6 projecting from an inner cartridge case 4. The case 4 contains a powder charge 5 to be ignited by a detonator in the base 2. Screwed into the neck 7 of the case 1 is an imitation projectile 8 made from synthetic plastic material such as polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene or a mixture of polyethylene with one or more polyolefines of high molecular weight. The wall thickness of the projectile decreases progressively towards the tip which is weakened at lines 10.
