Abstract
920,510. Vehicles equipped with conveyers for handling articles. COMMER CARS Ltd., and J. E. B. CREASE. March 18, 1960 [March 23, 1959], No. 9920/59. Class 78 (4). A lorry is provided with an off-set driver's cab 10 beside which is pivoted at 24 either a belt conveyer 25 or a shoot (not shown), adapted to feed goods to and from an aligned conveyer belt 30 mounted in the floor 13 of the body 11. Shelves 32, 33, 34 and a space 35 provide storage space of goods removed from belt 30. An hydraulic ram 28 adjusts the inclination of conveyer 25 to align its free end with the surface to be loaded or unloaded, e.g. the cabin of an aircraft. The conveyers 25, 30 are driven by single reversible hydraulic motor 40 under the control of a handle 41. Where it is desired to increase the length of the conveyer path a plurality of lorries can be arranged in line, with each conveyer 25 receiving goods from the preceding conveyer 30.
