920,312. Lathe details; chucks. ZOVODY PRESNEHO STROJIRENSTVI GOTTWALDOV, NARODNI PODNIK. May 18, 1961 [June 4, 1960], No. 18068/61. Class 83 (3). A spindle for an automatic lathe is provided with chuck means which are adjustable from the front end for working with different diameters of bar stock. The lathe spindle 1, Fig. 1, is carried in a bearing 2 keyed in the frame at 6 and retained by nuts 4, 5. A tubular member 9 is carried within the spindle, the rear end of this member is actuated by levers 17 operated by a yoke 20 and sliding collar 19. The forward end of member 9 opens out to a conical form 10 which engages the outside surfaces of jaw members 11.
