Abstract
2,3-Dichloropropene-1 and propargyl chloride are obtained by chlorinating allene in an inert solvent. Suitable solvents are chloroform, methylene chloride, 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane, dimethyl formamide, toluene and p-xylene. In a comparative example using glacial acetic acid as solvent, the product is 2-chloro-3-acetoxy-propene-1 only.
