Abstract
917,753. Forming dispersions. TORRANCE & SONS Ltd. April 29, 1959 [April 29, 1958], No. 13518/58. Addition to 850,688. Class 86. In a method of forming dispersions according to the parent Specification, the apparatus is modified by the provision of an outlet valve in the form of a tube 11 vertically slidable by the action of the reversible motor 13 through the screw 12 and the nut 12a, and closing a vertical slot in the wall of the container 4, which may have a wear-resistant lining. In the wall of tube 11 is a screen 10 through which when registered with the slot in container 4 discharge thereof may be effected through flexible conduit 15 under the action of pump 16. The extreme positions of the tube 11 are determined by limit switches 14, 14a. The operations of opening the outlet valve, starting and stopping the outlet pump, closing the outlet valve, starting and stopping the inlet pump, and agitating, are electrically controlled in a repeated pre-determined time-cycle, and described with reference to Figs. 2-4 (not shown).
