Abstract

917,334. Releasable fastenings. ABENDROTH G.m.b.H., [trading as ABENDROTH G.m.b.H. & CO. KOMM. GES.].- April 26, 1961 [Sept. 6, 1960], No. 15060/61. Class 44. A fastening system for a window having a casement a swinging about a horizontal axis, comprises a vertical bolt 27 at each side of the window, moved into engagement with a plate 29 on the window frame b by an operating member 1, which is connected to each bolt 27 by a linkage system comprising a bar 10, a connecting member 14, linking the bar 10 with a chain slidable within an arcuate sleeve 2, and a further connecting member 23 linking the chain with a second bar 21 to which the bolt 27 is connected. The adjacent ends of each bar 10 and its associated connecting member 14 are serrated, and by means of a pin and roller 4, the member 14 may be moved relative to the bar 10 to decrease the effective length of the latter and provide a means of adapting the system to fit windows of various sizes. A pin 16 (not shown) is provided for locking the members 14 and 10 together after the necessary adjustment has been made.
