Abstract

916,817. Clearers for rollers. CARDING SPECIALISTS (CANADA) Ltd. June 2, 1959 [June 5, 1958], No. 18002/58. Classes 120 (1) and 120 (2). A scraper device for cleaning textile rollers has a blade adjustably clamped between a fixing plate and a carrier bar, the bar having an off-set pivot so that the blade scraping edge is held against the roller. To allow adjustment, the blade 3 is formed with parallel slots through which pass the screws or studs that hold the blade 3 and clamping plate 4 to the carrier bar 1. If a bar 1 does not provide a sufficient load to the blade 3 as it pivots on a bolt 9, extra loading bars may be secured to the bar 1 or spring loading may be arranged. Fibres may be removed from the rollers 6, 7 by stationary or rotary clearing bars covered with a textile material, such as felt. Specifications 697,106 and 906,714 are referred to.
