Abstract
915,997. Washing-machines. KOVOSMALT, NARODNY PODNIK. Jan. 1, 1961, No. 1245/61. Class 138 (2). A washing-drum 6 is biased by a spring 4 to a raised position (Fig. 2, not shown), for spindrying, and retained in its lowered position by a pawl 7 for washing, the spring 4 acting between vertical telescopic shafts 2, 3. In the lowered position, lugs 9 on the shaft 2 are disengaged from driving engagement with recesses in a bush 8 connected to the drum 6. For washing, an oscillatory motion is imparted through shafts 2, 3 to an agitator 10. Alternatively, the drum 6 may be fitted with ribs and oscillated for washing. Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), illustrate alternative arrangements of the shafts 2, 3 and spring 4.
