An air mattress comprises three or more parts 3, 4 and 5, each being foldable relative to the next adjacent part and to form a seat having a saddleshaped back, the parts 4, 5 of the seat forming the back being interconnected adjacent their base by resiliently yieldable connecting means 6. The connecting means 6 may comprise a cord of rubber or synthetic plastic having its ends fastened in juxtaposition in a clip formed with a hook which engages an eye in the mattress edge, the cord being knotted in a slip knot in an eye in the opposite mattress edge.
