Abstract
912,734. Motor casings. ELECTROLUX A.B. Sept. 29, 1961 [Oct. 1, 1960], No. 35104/61. Class 35. End shells for an electric motor have peripheral and central parts bearing directly or indirectly on the stator and rotor of the motor respectively in regions which are in the same plane. In Fig. 3, the shell on bearing bracket 17 has a circular recess 28 to which fits the ends of the stator windings. The central boss 20 has a contact surface 25 which bears against the end of the rotor or washer fitted on the rotor shaft. The peripheral part 21 of the shell on bearing bracket bears indirectly against the stator of the motor (Fig. 2, not shown). A circular recess 29 contains the bearing and means for lubricating it. The bracket or shell can be cast or moulded in metal or plastic. When produced in plastic the bearing surfaces 21, 25 should be reinforced with metal inserts.
