Abstract
911,619. Refrigerating. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. Sept. 14, 1961 [Oct. 3, 1960], No. 33034/61. Class 29. In a refrigerator cooled by the cold elements 4 of a set of thermocouples 2 the hot elements 3 of the latter are cooled by a fluid which is itself cooled by the cold elements 5 of further thermocouples 6. The fluid which may be oil, water or monofluorotrichloroethylene, C 2 FCl 3 , circulates thermo-syphonically in a container 1 which additionally contains heat-exchange elements 9 connected to further elements 10. The latter are cooled by room air circulated through a rear duet controlled by an adjustable ventilator (not shown), the air also serving to cool the hot elements 7 of the thermocouples 6. When C 2 FCl 3 is used it is evaporated by the elements 3 and condensed by the elements 5 in connected evaporating and condensing chambers, the chamber 1 containing liquid C 2 FCl 3 up to the level indicated at 8. The thermocouples 6 may be wholly or partly disconnectable for control of the refrigerating temperature.
