Abstract
908,723. Pneumatic conveyers. HERMANNS, W. Dec. 14, 1959 [Dec. 27, 1958], No. 42441/59. Class 78 (1). A container 1 has porous tubes 4 for aerating granular material to be emptied via an outlet 2. The tubes 4 are arranged in three groups which are connected to respective air pressure chambers 6a, 6b, 6c. Air supply to the chambers may be selectively controlled by a valve 12. In operation, air is fed to the middle group of elements until the material above them flows off to the sides. The valve 12 is then altered so as to feed air to the outer groups of elements. In modifications (Figs. 3, 5, 6 and 7, not shown), the valve 12 is replaced by valves mounted in the baffles 9, 10 which partition the chambers 8, 9, 10. In a further modification (Fig. 7, not shown), the chambers 8, 9, 10 are replaced by a single chamber and each group of tubes 4 has a common inlet arranged with a respective valve.
