Abstract
907,627. Hoists. GIUGNI, B., GIUGNI, R., and GIUGNI, N. Dec. 30,1959 [Dec. 30, 1958], No. 44270/59. Addition to 806,158. Class 78(3). The stacker described in the parent Specification is provided with support legs 4, 104 and simultaneously retractable wheels 5, 6, 105. Wheel 6 is a castor and is mounted on a rod 49 slidable through a sleeve 50 by a link 57 and a bell-crank 47 which is connected by a link 46 with a lever 45 carrying axle 35. Lever 45 is movable about an axis 37 by a hand lever 44 guided in a stirrup 42 provided with an enlarged end portion 43 which enables the lever 44 to be rotated about its longitudinal axis whereby it locks the wheels in their extended positions. Further wheels 53, 153 are provided to enable the stacker to be wheeled in a tilted attitude. Cables 10, 110 are anchored to winch drums 12, 112 which are driven through a friction clutch (22, 122, Fig. 4, not shown) and a motor 14 provided with a brake (Fig. 5, not shown) which is applied automatically when the motor is de-energized. Limit switches 25, 125 which are adjustable along the guide rails 2 carry additional manually-operable motor control switches. In a modification (Fig. 7, not shown) the cables 10, 110 are anchored to the tops of the rails and pass under pulleys mounted on the load carrier 7 as well as over pulleys 11, 111.
