Abstract
905,493. Clamps. DEMAT Ltd., and DEACON, J. P. June 3, 1960 [March 6, 1959], No. 7867/59. Class 44. A set of clamps of at least two different kinds for securing together rods or tubes having the same radius, comprises a saddle clamp 22 having on opposite sides thereof seats 25 disposed so that rods or tubes 21, 26 seated thereon are in crossing relationship, each seat having a pair of holes to receive clamping devices such as a U-bolt 27 and bolts 23, and a corner clamp 12 having two branches 10 and 11 with seats disposed so that the axes of rods or tubes 20, 21 seated thereon intersect at right-angles, each branch also having a pair of holes for receiving clamping devices, the centre lines of the latter holes lying in a plane spaced from the axis of a rod or tube clamped to the other branch by a distance which is equal to the distance between the axes of the rods or tubes clamped to the saddle clamp. The clamping devices are fitted with rubber or plastic ferrules 19 so that when the devices are slackened the rods or tubes can be easily inserted into position. When a diagonal tube is required a hook fitting, Fig. 5 (not shown), is clamped to the tube 21.
