Abstract

904,975. Pipe joints. CIBA Ltd. June 27, 1961 [July 4, 1960], No. 23234/61. Class 99(1). A joint ring for a lined pipe 10 comprises a metal cylinder 14, one end face 18 of which is lined with a corrosion-resistant material, e.g. rubber, which extends into the bore of the cylinder and is spaced therefrom over part of its length in such a manner, as to provide a socket between the lining 16 and the bore for the reception of a pipe end 22. As shown, a joint ring is secured by adhesive, e.g. a resin to the ends of each lined pipe 10 and the end faces of the cylinders 14 are held in abutting relationship with a sealing ring 19 therebetween by a known connection. The joint rings may be spot welded to the pipe ends. Specification 849,826 is referred to.
