Abstract
A rapid hardening Portland cement is formed by mixing a major proportion of normally ground Ferrari cement having an iron modulus of less than 0,64 with a minor proportion of a finely ground high early strength Portland cement with a high calcium standard and containing at least 5% of tricalciumaluminate, the specific surface of the Portland cement exceeding that of the Ferrari cement by at least 30%. The specific surface O must satisfy the formula O \s0 2800 + 40X + 200y Cm2/gm. where X is the percentage of Portland cement added and y is the percentage of tricalciumaluminate contained therein. The preferred composition contains 70% Ferrari cement and 30% Portland cement which is ground to at least 4,000 Blaine.
