Abstract

A process for the manufacture of purified ACTH preparations as described in the parent Specification is characterized in that the elution is carried out stepwise by making use of a series of different elution liquids and in a modification in which the absorption and elution pH's are equal with liquids having a molarity different from the absorption liquid. Volatile solvent buffers e.g. pyridine-acetic acid, collidine-formic acid, sodium acetate-acetic acid, ammonium acetate-acetic acid, trimethylamine-acetic acid, triethylamine-acetic acid, pyridine-hydrochloric acid, collidine-phosphoric acid and triethylamine-sulphuric acid of different molarity and sodium and potassium salt solutions of different molarity and/or pH are used as elution liquids.
