Abstract
901,123. Scraper conveyers. VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN-UND STAHLWERKE A.G. Nov. 23, 1959 [Nov. 26, 1958], No. 39682/59. Class 78 (1). The trough of a single drain scraper conveyer is formed from articulated sections each comprising side walls 2 and a bottom plate 1 to which are welded upper and lower pairs of plates 3 for guiding the round link chain 4. Each scraper consists of symmetrical halves 6, 7 which are secured by common bolts 10, the two upwardly-bent limbs 8 of upwardlyopen chain links 9, Fig. 7 (not shown). At the junction between two conveyer sections, the bottom 1 of one section has a recess which receives a corresponding tongue 15 of the bottom of the other section. The transverse edges 20 of the bottoms extend obliquely towards both sides and plates 21 are provided to prevent material from falling through. The joint between the two sections is bridged by rails 16, having a groove 17 for the vertical chain links, welded to the bottom of one section. A wedge-shaped gap 19, Fig. 4 enables pivotal movement of the two sections in a vertical direction since the transverse edges 22, 23 of the side walls 2 and plates 3 extend obliquely upwardly and downwardly. Flexible flaps 24 are provided on the side walls 2.
