900,834. Container closures. GOLDE, E. Nov. 5, 1959 [Nov. 17, 1958], No. 37622/59. Class 125(3). A screw-cap for a bottle is made of an elastic thermoplastic material and has an annular protrusion 6 above a thread 4, while the bottle neck has a corresponding protrusion 3 below a thread 2, so that when the cap is applied it may be screwed down until the protrusion 6 rides over the protrusion 3, the screw-threads become disengaged, and the cap is locked against axial movement on the bottle neck. At the top of the cap an inwardly extending part 7 forms a seal within the bottle neck, and a spout 8 is initially closed but may be cut to provide a squirt opening. The thread on the bottle neck may be either internal or external, and the protrusion on either the bottle neck or the cap may be dispensed with, the screw-thread serving as abutment in its place.
