Abstract

900,753. Nozzles. BAUER, R. April 14, 1960, No. 13329/60. Class 69 (3). A nozzle 1 of rubber with an expansible discharge orifice 3 has a non-expansible neck 4 with an internal diameter approximately corresponding to that of a pipe to which it is secured. A rigid insert 5 is located in the neck and a retaining-nut 6 embraces it. In a modification the insert has a circumferential threaded portion for securing purposes. In Fig. 3 the insert 5 comprises a component of a coupling portion 8 forming the female portion of a ball-joint coupling. The discharge orifice, which may be circular, star-shaped, or in the form of a slit, is expandible to the internal diameter of the neck.
