Abstract
897,463. Gold-plating solutions. SEL-REX CORPORATION. Sept. 3, 1959, No. 30138/59. Addition to 851,973. Class 41. Gold-plating solutions contain a weak stable organic acid partly neutralized to the range pH 3 to 6, and gold cyanide, or a double cyanide with an alkali metal. Aliphatic hydroxy mono-carboxylic, dicarboxylic acids, unsaturated or aromatic acids which are soluble in water may be used, e.g. citric, tartaric, oxalic, fumaric, lactic, hydroxy-propionic, acrylic, crotonic, or resorcyclic acid may be used, and partly neutralized to pH 3 to 6 with alkali bases or ammonia. In examples, the acid content is 10 to 150 g. per litre, and gold cyanide 1 to 30 g. per litre.
