Abstract

895,797. Tine-wheels for picking up hay. MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR A.G. Nov. 9, 1960 [Nov. 11, 1959], No. 38551/60. Class 78 (1). Deflectors are provided for automatically straightening deformed tines 5 (Fig. 3) on a device for picking up hay. In the form shown the ends 18 of the usual guides 9 for the tines 5 are turned so that the major dimension is at right-angles to the shaft 7 of the tine drum and a deflector 20, with an engaging surface 21, is formed on each guide. An inclined portion 19 joins the deflector 20 to the guide 9. The space between the rearward ends 14, 18 of the guides 9 is left clear to permit free movement of any deformed tines. The tines 5 are formed in pairs, as shown in end view in Fig. 2, and are mounted on spindles 4 supported between end discs 3. The invention may be applied to tines carried by endless bands.
